The Konkan Education Society was just a sapling of 24 branches when he took over as president in 1977, but as a present it has manifested itself into a spectacular growth with 105 branches spread over in the vicinities of Raigad, Thane, and Sindhudurg District. Konkan Education Society is a movement not merely as institution. He enjoyed a long tenure of 27 year as MLA and looking to competence and logical bent of mind he was honoured twice with the challenging position of opposition party leader of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.
